About

Belgian designer Julie Kegels , a recent graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, interned at Meryll Rogge and Alaïa before founding her namesake label in 2024. Her Ready-To-Wear debut, aptly named 50/50,will be presented at Women’s Fashion Week FW24-25 in Paris.

Melding contemporary elegance with a playful twist,
Kegels’ . key pieces showcase distinctly unconventional pairings. Above-the-knee granny socks feature a translucent, provocative back, while wool skirts are juxtaposed with shortened denim rears, and sober pinstripes harmonize with floral motifs.

The desire to defy conforming to a single archetype is a leitmotif that makes the brand stand out. Whether drawn from modern influences or her own nostalgic memories, the young designer’s creative process centers on fully exploring fashion’s transformative power to create her unique universe.

In this spirit, the accessories—jewelry, bags, and shoes—weave together elements from the past and present. Notably, Kegels skillfully integrates romantic, old-world lace patterns into the collection using the latest thermoforming techniques, resulting in contemporary masterpieces.
Complemented by a mix of offbeat preppy cuts, embossed florals, and trompe l’oeil knitwear, the collection breathes new life into timeless designs.
